Five Family Scriptures

Laura:
Joshua 24:15 - But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.
Galations 6:10 - Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone - especially to those in the family of faith.
Ephesians 6:1 - Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.
1 Peter 4:17 - For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
1 Timothy 3:4 - He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect.
All of these scriptures talk about respect for family and God's family. We should all show respect to both.

Emily:
Eph. 6:2-3- Honor your Father and Mother. This is the first commandment with a promise; if you honor your father and mother, "things will go well for you and you will have a long life on the earth."
1Peter 3:7- In the same way, you huspands must give honor to you wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life.
Eph.5:22- For wives, this means to submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
Psalm 127:3 Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
Proverb 17:17 A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
-Each of these scriptures describes a different relationship in the family, it shows how we should treat the members of our family. Not only now but also when we get married and have children. These are scriptures that all of us should take and apply to our lives.

Honoring Teachers, Assignment #1

Laura:
Honoring teachers means respecting them. We honor our teachers by obeying them and paying attention to what they say.
Mrs. Diaz - Joking back and forth in class.
Ms. Melancon - You playing the piano keyboard and singing about [6th] hour.
Mr. Moland - Having him first think I was injured when Rachael ran me over in volleyball. Then having him laugh at me because of it. This happened 2 days ago!
Romans 13:1 - Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
Emily:
To honor your teachers means to not talk about them behind thier backs, and to honor them with your attitudes and actions.
Ms. Melancon- 1st hour World History class! The best class ever!!!
Mrs. Diaz- Always being called Amanda and the essay outline
Mrs. DeSalvo- All of the intresting times in Algebra 1and2
Romans 13:2
So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.
- Dishonoring authority is the same as dishonoring God, therefore we should honor our teachers and our other authorities.

Honor, Assignment #2

Laura: Honor is honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs or actions. When you honor someone you show respect to them. You have a high esteem for them. Honor shows value.

Emily: Honor is to preference someone as higher than yourself. Honor is to respect that person and to treat them fairly.

Proverbs 15:33 - Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor.
Colossians 1:10 - Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

John 5:23 - so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.
Romans 12:10 - Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
1 Thessalonians 5:12 - Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance.
